Costo says it won’t increase the cost of its memberships in 2024, reports the Mexico City daily newspaper El Universal. The members-only big-box warehouse club has 40 outlets in Mexico and 861 locations worldwide. As of 2023, Costo was the third-largest retailer worldwide.

More than 95% of members renew each year in Mexico. The wholesale club also sells gasoline and vacation packages and customers purchase cakes at a discount and resell them at a profit, with some telling Bloomberg news they can make a profit of US$1700 in just a few days. Mexico is the only nation in Latin America with Costco stores. The company has four in Spain.
